Another Update on my HW95

Well,I went ahead and installed a Vortek 12 FPE kit into the 95. Since then it's had over 200 pellets and I think it is settling down and finally becoming shootable. At least shootable by a feeble old crippled fart like me.
I have a target here shot at 30 yds using JSB Express pellets (14.35 grs).
The middle groups are indicative of what I'm now getting with the gun. Numbers 1 & 2 I was chasing the zero,5 and 6 I was getting tired.
I did think I had screwed the pooch yesterday when I fired it without a pellet in the breech. I pulled it apart today and nothing was broken, blown,or busted ,so I guess I was lucky.
My last chrono string was
574
610
608
611
609
614
618
614
617
615
If you ignore the 574 that's a nice spread. I suspect that might improve even in time.
While I envy those who can shoot a full-power version,I'm just happy I can hit something with this once in a while.
I did shoot it at 15 yards to see if the groups were off windage wise and they were centered. I might try shooting at 40 yards to see if there is any deviation there.
While my HW95 might be considered a "cautionary" tale I think we're finally getting to an acceptable outcome.
Thanks For Looking

Try adjusting the trigger. Your groups look good though I bet you can do better.

I would agree with this. A little practice and you'll be shooting one hole groups.

Thanks guys,I have been thinking about that myself. The last chrono string I ran indicates that I have an es of 5 fps! Wouldn't believe it if I hadn't ran the test myself. Guess the vortek kit and seal are working pretty good. About to go out and shoot,so I will make minor adjustment to the trigger before I step out.

The Rekord is fairly easy to adjust. You will need a small torx wrench. Check this out.

I went ahead and put a Vortek PG2 full power kit in my new HW95. I just couldn't stand the twang in .22 when the .177 I've had with a pg2 was soooo much smoother.
End of the day, CPUM 14.3's are hitting 815fps (up from 750!), and both group I managed to shoot yesterday at 25 yards were one hole.
Got to love how smooth those PG2 kits make these guns!

Duckfish, thank you for the link,I think I have the trigger now adjusted to the right weight.
Wimpanzee,I have had good luck with vortek kits, they seems to make the firing cycle notable quicker. They also make chrono readings far more consistant.
Well, the great accuracy I was getting with JSB Express went south when I started shooting out of the next tin of pellets. I'll get 2-3 in a ragged hole, the other shots will be flyers. I have switched over to AA Field Heavies (18 grs) ,they give good accuracy so far. Would have liked it if my pellet hunt was over.
I have heard other people state a similar experience with jsb pellets,I do hope this not a trend. I sure do envy the folks that can get good accuracy from cheaper pellets ,like crosman and rws.
