How do you explain this???

A man was taken to the hospital Friday morning after firefighters found him bleeding from the head outside a burning home. The fire was at a manufactured home on 24860 Grahams Ferry Road, near Wilsonville. A woman driving past saw the flames and called 911. She said the flames were so intense she could feel the heat through her car. When firefighters arrived they found the man outside with a pellet gun next to him. Washington County Sheriff's Deputies say 53-year old Russell Hoover, Jr. apparently shot himself through the nose with that pellet gun. It's not clear how he did that. No other victims were found inside the destroyed home. Fire investigators are still looking into the cause of that fire.

There's abviously more to this story than the facts you have now.  I would be interested in hearing how this develops.  Lots of scenarios to imagine on this one!

Botched suicides occur all the time.  This one seems to involve pellets.  There really is no explanation for these things aside from the poor people involved are usually temporarily insane.  Perhaps we need an AirgunMishapGate?  (Might be better to put this to the BackGate?)

Speaking from a Fireman's/AG enthusiast's point of view, I have to agree with "compressedair" on this one. The injury to the nose was apparantly an accident due to the intensely stressful situation. In his haste to rescue his prized possession from the fury of the flames, the injury occured. Come on guys, give the man some credit for the successful rescue and some empathy for having lost his home.

Has anyone done a search for his name on the GTA.. I can just see myself trying to save my AG's from my burning house if it occurred. Sure hope I do not shoot myself but then again I keep no loaded guns in my house except for shotgun under bed....

I would hope that RF would not accuse me of committing suicide.... hehe

I totally agree with Richard,the man just lost his house and almost his ag.Where's the empathy. I for one would be saving an ag that I just bought!
