It took about 30 years, but I held on to a dream, (I attribute this long wait to looking at Mr Beeman's catalog in the early 1980's) and finally managed to get a proper target rifle. I just received my FWB 500 in the mail this week from Champions Choice. I also have an after market rear iris by Gehmann coming too help with my aging eyes. In short, it's far more accurate than anything I've ever shot and the trigger is nothing short of fabulous. The target on the left is the factory 5 shot test at 10 meters, and the rest are mine. No excuses for "fliers" if I miss, it's likely something I did and not the gun. I plan on having lots of quiet and relaxing fun with this inside or out.
Anyone else have one of these and would like to share your experiences are most welcome. BY the way, if you live in the Easter NC area and know of a place to shoot, please pass along. City living has it's limitations.

I'm very envious! I'd love to have a proper SSP ten meter rifle, it's on my bucket list. The 500, 600, 800 or maybe a Walther LGR.
I'd like to hear about the rear sight after you've had a chance to shoot it. Aging eyes have certainly limited what I can do with open sights.
Congratulations on a superb air rifle,
Higgs

Higgs,
You can be sure I'll post an update on the new iris. I ordered the Gehmann 570-579 Cls Vari-Focal. It's supposed to correct near or far sightedness without having to get an additional lens..it's an all-in-one deal. Hopefully it works. It's my first time using this type precision equipment and I actually went out on a limb and purchased both items sight unseen. I figured if it's good enough for the Olympics and World Champions, it should work for the backyard plinker or occasional informal target match. Actually, I hope to try my hand in some competition one day if I can find something close enough.

Nice.
What pellets are you shooting?
Pump or tank? How many pumps?

I've only shot it with the H&N plinking pellets, but I have a plethora of others to try out. My bets are on the RWS R10 and some match grade H&N I have in two head diameters. I opted to get a Hill hand pump and it took less than 5 minutes to fill to 200bar. I didn't count the number of pumps. What impresses me so far is the number of shots I get out of a fill, I believe I shot about 35-40 times and still at 155 to 160 bar.
