my uncle bought this izh baikal mp514,needless to say he didnt like it,he couldnt figure out how to load the thing.
showed him how to use it,he still didnt like the ag.
done some wheelin n dealin.....i own it now.
first off....its ugly, and rear heavy.came in a plain box with no instructions.
rear sight was missing.
on the plus side it comes with 2-8 shot clips,a spare spring and seal and a cleaning rod.
built on the upper reciever is a picatinny rail.
pramyd air states this is a 558 fps shooter.
so after installing a cheap 4x32 gamo scope,i shot through the chrony.
pba hit 1 shot at 602 fps,the next shot never left the barrel.removed the jammed round, fired again....jam.
after further test i concluded that the pba ammo does not work in this gun.the pba round is harder than lead, the low power of this gun cant push every pba out the barrel.
so i grabbed a pack of crosman comps wad cutters,my average was 430 fps with a spread of only 6 fps.
i fired a few groups with the crosman comps,1 inch average 8 shot group.
the amazing part was when i loaded in the cphp's a nice 1 hole group.the 4th group (bottom left is the cphp group)
rest of the groups are the wadcutters.
this gun would be great for small short range pest control, its quiet, easy to cock and use,not very hold sensitive.
and accurate with cheap rounds.feels very comfortable while shooting.i shot a 3 inch orange at 30 yards, the wadcutter penetrated half way through.
the only thing i dont like is that the upper reciever half flex's,which will hurt the accuracy.the recoil is different than a normal springer.you compress the spring on the up-stroke while opening the gun.theres a ratcheting anti bear trap system....this will help kids cock the gun.i would say that cocking effort is around 10-12lbs.

Good review and pictures
I bought one back in 2008 and posted a review on the old GTA, here:
http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/index.php/topic,6509.0.html
Since then, I have had a lot of fun with this airgun. It is an interesting little thing, and turns a lot of heads.
I liked it so much, and was so impressed by the build quality, I immediately bought a IZH-53 pistol (also, very nice).
Sorry your's didn't come with the manual and paperwork. The manual was very comprehensive, and well written. Mine also came with QC paperwork, a test target (signed by the tester), extra spring and seals, a steel "cleaning rod" and a cleaning cloth. In my limited experience (just two Baikal guns), I have been really impressed with their attention to detail -- also, I think their barrels are excellent for the price!
My MP-514K really settled in with RWS Superdomes (and they are good fits in the magazine).
I didn't like the sights, but that's remediable. I mostly use a dot sight now.
Enjoy your Izzy!

the mp-514k looks like a real cool gun I've owned mine for some years and use it for shootin rats on my back gate.i use a barska red dot sight.it's fairly accurate at close range.the bummer you cant use predator pellets.only flat heads or round nose.one dislike is the if i miss the cocking by one click it jams.must be careful!
