Leftie with ambidexterous tendencies - southpaw survival. Oddly, I shoot pistol right handed, even though left eye dominant. Go figure...

  Right handed, but left eye dominant. My right eye is somewhere around 20/110 or the likes.

  I shoot pistols right handed, but with a slightly different head position. Rifles, strictly a left handed affair for me.

I don't hate righties, but it just kinda not worthy that they don't t know how it feels for everything to be wrong handed and not as easy to use.    If I was president I would pass a law making everything left handed, then we'll see how you righties like it, and  then every single one of you people will honestly be able to say " I know how it feels"

Presidents don't pass laws, Congress does, so you'll have to sign a Executive Order instead. you can get some pointers on how to do that from our current Prez, who BTW is left handed so perhaps he'll be sympathetic!

My son was born a lefty but we were not sure at the time, and thought we had to help him with using his right hand more when he was a toddler.  So we kind of taught him to be right handed for his first 6 years or so, since that's what we are.  Now he is ambidextrous and can do most things with both hands or some with the right and others with his left, but he is still a lefty by nature.  I have always wondered if we messed him up, or we helped.  I doubt it was the latter..

I can do very few things with my left hand like eat with it, and lift something together with my right hand, and that's about it   Actually the only thing I can do is play soccer with both feet because I learned that when I was very young.  Other than that my right side completely dominates me in every respect.

Harry since kids don't come with an instruction manual we do the guy thing and forge ahead boldly hoping for a good result

I have heard that people who use their hands in delicate skills [artists, surgeons, jewelers, etc.] benefit from being ambidextrous.  They are more accurate and quicker at the tasks they perform.  Harry, you may have done the lad a favor!

Mike, that makes good sense.  If there is a ever a need...  we should ask the surgeon if they are ambidextrous
