How to remove outer ring to install sunshade on Centerpoint scope??? HELP!

I received a Mueller sunshade I ordered from Amazon today that a number of reviewers said fit there CP 4X16X40 AO adventure class scope. It DOES look like it'd fit IF I can figure out how to remove the outer ring without breaking something. Anybody???

Figured it out! I was trying to loosen it by grabbing the outside. You need to use your forefinger on the INSIDE of the ring with your thumb on the outside & it unscrews very easily. Go figger.......
The sun shade fits fine on the 4X16X40. I did try to put it on my other centerpoint, a 3X9X40 and it wouldn't fit. Don't know why. Seems like it should with both being 40mm but I guess the threads are different although they looked the same to my old eyes.

I have a few purchased sun shade's around.  BUT I found using toilet paper rolls works great. Cut along it's length, roll around end of scope, tape to hold dia. take off put a strip of your best tape down the length and wrap up an into tube, stick firmly. Paint your fav color, couple coats in/out . This will slide on as needed and will last at least a season. W/paint it is very durable. cost Not much. You don't have to screw on and it stays put after taping and painting. I use good duck or packing tape.
