H&N Grizzlies meet Mr. G-Hog (GRAPHIC)

Well I got another G-Hog! They have been pretty scarce this season and the ones I have seen are very skittish. Got this one out the second story bedroom window again, my third from that spot this year. It was about 65yds.

He was right out in the open but acting pretty nervous, constantly stopping his eating to lift his head and look around.

My first shot was a complete miss!!! He had lifted his head to look around and just as I squeezed off the shot he dropped his head to eat some more, and I shot right over the top of his head!

Surprisingly he only ran about 3 feet and stopped, that was a big mistake on his part, I rarely miss twice.

Second shot I hit him in the spine right at the base of the skull. He dropped on the spot, only thing moving was his tail straight up in the air!!!

Besides shattering his spine in must have ruptured his throat as there was a lot of blood out of his mouth.

This was done with the new 31gr H&N Grizzlies from my .25 SynRod shooting them at about 875 fps. So I decided to retrieve the pellet to see what it looked like.

This was a fairly large G-Hog and very fat, the entrance hole was actually kind of hard to find, but the spine was totally shattered with lots of small bone fragments and the pellet was most of the way thru but not all the way to the skin on the other side.

These H&N Grizzlies shoot very good from my SynRod at 30yds! Actually every bit as good as the JSB Exact Kings. The only time other than today, that I have been able to shoot them at longer ranges it was very windy, today was fairly calm, in the wind the 50yd groups were about 1.25".

I'm still dealing with my broken wrist from being hit by a woman running a red light, so I haven't been shooting as much as I would like!!!   I still want to check out these Grizzlies at 75 and 100yds on a calm day!

But they worked well on this G-Hog!!!

Strange how some barrels will like a pellet and others won't, I was actually surprised to see how well the Grizzlies shoot in my gun after reading they were terrible in someone else's Marauder.
