what is more quiet= QE vs Mod.s

if we have the at44 or bt65 QE vs. one with after market moderator - which one is less loud-

The QE at44 in 177 that I shoot has a crazy twang that goes with that gun-
the bt65  does not yet have a MOD. but will soon

BUT question is??- all things being equal is the QE better-??

 I like the idea of removing the MOD if needed for transport - length not alway easy to find a carry case.
In the field no moderator is not a deal killer BUT for back yard plinking it is a must. The bt65 in .25 is as loud as a 22lr  RIMFIRE - but I do love the way it hits...need to stretch out the range and see what I can do with it at 50-75-100m.

Since my targets are not so small this is for fun= MAN SIZED target.
for serious stuff I'll have to  got to crow, Coyote- fox- squirrel targets at all sorts of distances to get a feel for how the gun does


I have only found 2 maybe 3 places that make moderators for BT65 so now there becomes  the next challenge, which one is best , what is a waste of money-

here is a video to answer to question, The ones that I build are a tad bit quieter, but also offers precision. I do not try too make them down to the 60db because to me its not appealing to have an 8-9inch LDC at the end of a barrel, so 6inches is what I prefer. The QE works but I have notice that the baffles do not fit very tight which intern will cause some clipping...... But they work, as you can see mine have been on my gun from its beginning never no clipping and a nice compact size. There are many to choose from.

There is no comparison between the QE guns and the same gun with an aftermarket moderator, my customers have told me that their Hatsan with my moderator on it is a lot quieter than the QE model they own, Of course the ability to remove an aftermarket moderator is a big plus, Neil.

Baxter makes a fine ldc, I would say it brings bark down a little more than qe shroud.
Also depends how much you modded your gun. My bt65 would be as loud with shroud as a factory bt65 without shroud. Depending on pellet and setting.

Can't go wrong with baxter's ldc. Makes a factory bt65 25 cal sound quiet next to a Benjamin np2

I just had this guy here make one for my at.  thanks neil.   

I had it made 6.75 inches long, and it is quieter than the impact of the pellet.  all I hear now is a ping and a thwack.  well that's a bit of an exaggeration, but its plenty quiet for the backyard.
