Another UTG mount stop pin scheme.

I've had some scope slippage with the BKL one piece mount and I do prefer the "wide top strap/4 strap screw" approach of the Sports Match/UTG/Leapers mounts, so the decision was made to mess with the UTG stop pin diameter in the R9 stop pin hole.
Here is a pic of the supplied UTG stop pin....

As you can see the screw has the "stop part" reduced in diameter which is partly the reason my R9 springer has deformed stop pin holes like this.......

This alone was the sole reason I even bought the BKL mounts since they don't use a stop pin.
Anywhoo....I disassembled my R9 recently after a stellar field target fun match where I hit almost one target per lane. Well....for the first time I had the stop pin hole get upset into the inside of the receiver tube! This made it difficult to remove the end plug when disassembling and I needed to do some filing & honing to restore the receiver bore.
Last night I machined a sleeve from a socket head cap screw that was a heavy press fit to the factory stop pin. The arrangement looks like this......

The hex socket in the factory stop pin is preserved it's easy to adjust the projection of the enlarged stop pin into the receiver stop pin hole. Since the pressed on sleeve is made from a high strength socket head cap screw and it has a sharp edge I'm hoping that the hardness of the sleeve coupled with the larger diameter (.20 dia) will prevent further deformation of the R9 receiver tube.

If that doesn't cure it Ed, I would say that the next step is TIG welding the mount on....

That is nice looking Ed. UTG should include different size stop pins with their mounts or perhaps bushing inserts it just makes more sense. I like what you did though good stuff.
