Good afternoon everyone,
The daughters boy friend brought over this 1979 pioneer springer that won't build enough pressure to blow the pellet out of the barrel. We tore it down and found it packed full of old hardened grease and sludge.
I have 2 questions
1 where would I be able to purchase a new cup from, this one has a lot of ware on it and could stand to be replaced
2 what type of grease/lube should I use on this rifle? What came out reminded me of bearing grease?
Have a great week
Tom

I have the bakelite stock version from 1974. It is so low-powered that you could probably just oil the spring and call it good. I am not aware of any parts for it - you would probably have to fabricate or modify something yourself. Even with a new seal it probably won't be a stellar performer - they sold as surplus over a decade ago in the $15 - $30 range.
The gun is a Romanian cadet trainer made by Uzina Mecanica Cugir S.A. in Cugir, Romania (UMC). If you decide it's worth the effort to search for parts, there are several variations of the name. I have seen UMC incorrectly reported as IMC. My gun is stamped
"pioner,"
and I have seen photos where the gun was stamped
"pionier."
"pioneer"
is also reported.
I keep mine around simply because it's the only Romanian gun in my collection.

PA has a chinese Q2 B2 cleaning/parts kit for $9.95. Has a main spring, leather piston seal and leather breach seals that might be made to work in that gun.

Thank you both for the info. For $10 it's worth ordering a kit and giving it a try.
