Scopes for Airguns

I have read a lot of posts regarding various scopes for air rifles and thought to throw my 2 cents on the subject. I got into air rifles about two years ago when I inherited a .177 RWS Diana Model 45 Original made in 1980. It destroyed several inexpensive scopes but eventually I found a great one that works on even the hardest recoiling springer's. So hope you guys try one out...it is the Nikon 3-9x40 Target EFR. In spite of what the description says, it will focus clearly all the way down to 5 yards! (You can shoot fly's off a blade of grass at five yards!) The optics are crystal clear edge to edge in the field of view even at highest magnification on a bright sunny day. And it only weighs 15 ounces! With some of our heavier air rifles the last thing we want to do is add 2 1/2 pounds of scope on top. Got mine at Airguns of Airizona for $189.00 & free shipping.
For my Sumatra that I shoot out to 100 yards I settled on a Leupold 6-18x40 AR MOD 1 from MidwayUSA. It weighs only 15 ounces also...Optics Planet has great deals on them too. Weaver and Nikon make some really great and affordable scopes for rimfire/airguns also. The fact is that you don't get good glass for cheap prices...so go ahead and save up for a good one...you will never regret having done so.
