Hawke Ring recoil lug

On the Hawke rings I'm using to mount a Hawke Sidewinder scope there is one ring that has a sharp pointed set screw/ lug.
I would like to know how it is used with out harming the Daystate Regal's action.

that is more than likely a stop pin to keep the ring from sliding on the rail.


not needed IMO on a pcp rifle,i always take mine out.


now if you were using a springer the stop pin is a good idea.

+1 what starlingassasin said .... I don't like the hole, if you take it out, I would run it back enough to make sure it isn't protruding through the bottom, and leave it there for esthetic reasons.  Take it all the way out, put some locktite on it, then it will never move on you.

  Yes on the Regal you do not need the stop pin I would do what Pappy recommended and shoot the snot out of your Regal they are an awesome rifle . There is some recoil but in no way anything like  what a springer does
