Well done! I liked both versions but I understand about making changes to it also. There comes a point where it's going to be as good as it gets. What did you use for a finish? I like the looks of it.
BEAUTIFUL, Glad you brought it back up, I missed it the first time.2nd finish is indeed better than before. Good eye.Now I just need to figure out how I am going to send you one of my 100 year old walnut trees to make me one.
Hoosier Daddy, if you have 100 year old walnut trees, you could sell the tree and buy a rifle with nice factory stock, and lots of pellets.

I am 54.My Great Grand Father planted the originals and I live on his dirt via inheritance. now there are about 30 good sized trees.Figure it as my pension someday but almost seems sacrilege to intentionally cut one down.My mower sure hates them for the nuts, but I let several strategically selected saplings go every spring.
How did you inlet the blank to receive the action?I have made some stocks. I inletted with a router, router table, and drill press. I have thought about taking on a stock for my HW77 but I haven't had the time or motivation lately, especially since it's spring now and I have other more urgent things to tend to at the moment. I hope to some day....
