HW100 fsb fac 0.177 with 16.2 gr pellets

Hi,
Just bought a new Weihrauch HW100 fsb fac in 0.177 because that is the only caliper which is legal where I live.
I was concerned after reading in various forums that almost supersonic speeds on light 0.177 would cause issues with stability and accuracy.
So I decided to try the JSB Beast Diablos 16.2 grains. Has anyone else tried 16.2 grain pellet in 0.177 ? From my chronograph the gun gave me 30 consistent shots just above 850 fps. That is 26 foot pounds which is over of the 22 advertised by the manufacturer!
I haven't been able to test accuracy and poi drop because of bad weather but as soon as I can I ll do it and let you know.
Forgot to say that I intend to shoot up to 60 meters - approximately 70 yards.

Anyone with any thoughts around this?

       My HW 100 was shooting JSB 10.3's at 22.3 fpe. To much for FT. I detuned to 18.3 fpe. It is now shooting 907 fps, and I'm getting 53 full power shots. Shooting heavy pellets won't hurt your gun. Slowing your gun down with the regulator, and hammer spring will give you the speed your looking for and a better shot count.

If you reduce the power of the HW100, you can shoot pellets that are more accurate than JSB Beast pellets.  The best candidates for accuracy are JSB (or Air Arms) Heavy pellets at 10.3 grains or H&N Baracuda Match pellets at 10.65 grains.  You will probably want to lower the power of the rifle so that the pellets do not exceed about 900 fps.  To achieve this you can turn the hammer and the regulator both counter clockwise (CCW) in a 2:1 ratio.  That is to say, turn the hammer spring CCW one turn; turn the regulator CCW half-a-turn.  Test over the chronograph.  If still it still shoots with too much power, adjust again and chrony.  When you lower the power you will see an increase in the shot count per fill.  My HW100 shoots Air Arms Diabolo Field 8.4 grain pellets best and it is adjusted to about 15.1 fpe, with a shot count of 100.

as the two previous posters mentioned making the adjustments, I just adjusted my hammerspring to get me down to the 19/20ft.lb range which gets me a decent shot count. I'll probably bring it down just a little more so all my strings are around 19ft.lbs with jsb 10.3's. that first shot ruined my string but it is what it is for now.

I just picked up a couple of tins myself, but have not had a chance to run them over a chrony or shoot them at all. Quite excited to try them out, but cold weather here has me building a 3D printer instead. When the weather improves, I will be launching these from a Gen I .177 Marauder.
They are about the same length as the 16gr EunJin but otherwise look like the other JSB pellets. The 10.34gr JSB Heavies and 13.4 gr Monsters are most accurate from this Marauder so far. The 16gr EunJins were not very accurate from my gun, so it would be nice to have an extra-heavy pellet that is. Here's hoping the weather warms up soon... Let us know what you find out.
The attached picture is 10 shots at 36 yards with JSB Monsters sailing at around 850FPS from my Mrod on a bipod resting atop a stack of milk crates, me in a plastic lawn chair.

Hi all,

Finally decided to go down the detune way... took me a couple of hours watching and reading and about 20 minutes of stripping rthe gun and adjusting the regulator and hummer spring 1/2 turn back both.
I now have 925 fps with the jsb heavies 10.3 gr which I think is great. As far as shot count it increased but I am jot sure by how much and accuracy wise.. I have to wait for some good weather to find out

Mine is shooting 10.3 at 918 and is perfect. I think you'll like it at 925.

      Grady our guns are shooting about the same, but your getting a little better shot count. I wonder if the nitrogen could be hurting my shot count some. I know when I switched over the gun picked up about 7 fps.

I thought nitro would be better than air from all I read if additional test confirm you're running better on air, I'd switch. I've got plenty of tanks so if you need a boost you're only a hop, skip and a jump away.

I'd like to stay below 930fps across the board, and as close to 20ft.lbs as possible. I have to order the single shot tray and some additional scope rings to mount my other new scope on it, I brought another ffp scope and either the hw100 or daystate is going to get it.
