just got some cphp in 22 from wally the other day

it seems that either crosman tightened up it qc on them or i just got a good tin lol. the size and wieght consistancy is so much better than i remember in the past. i put a bunch on the scale and they went from 14.3-14.5(very few were 14.5) and the older ones i checked had as much as .7 or so difference so thats a huge improvment. as far as head size goes, i didnt use a caliper but put some in the breech and popped it out with a cleaning rod and tried another. i could feel some variation with a few but they were all a snug fit. i had a few of the older ones fall all the way thru the barrel before so again, thats a huge improvment. i hope i didnt get a fluke can and they keep up like this. oh, and my test rifle was a home tuned b26. as far as groups went they had the same POI as the cp boxed. i just got this gun and the last owner said that it was the best pellet for it and sent 50 or so to try.  had an older tin of wally cphp and tried them cause im not paying 23 bucks(before shipping) for 650 pellets. and they worked just as well. at 25yds i was hitting 1/4in rocks almost every time so im very satisfied with them.

I recently had a tin of CPHPs which were also totally uniform. They were all head snug and if I was careful to press them into the breach fully, gave very consistent groups. When I went to purchase another tin, they were all over the map. there were some I had to almost force in and others fell right in by themselves. I'm hoping it it was caused by a lack of stock rotation at the store, and the first tin was the new merchandise. Guess my next tin will tell the tale. It really would be great if they improved the sizing a bit more. I think pellet size has more effect on accuracy than does 1-2 tenths of  a grain except at longer distances where they will both play a role in killing accuracy.

i 100% agree and i do hope the next tin will be just as good. all i do is plink so it would be nice if i can rely on these for my b26. i might pick up another tin next time im at wally just to compare. i hope crosman got their doo doo together on this.

i bought up about 5000 cphp's in .22 from wally world in the last 2 months.  they are all fantastic.  i still get a few fliers, but for a 6.95 for 500 pellet, i can't ask to much.

i dont care what pellet you use(within reason) your gonna get one once in a while but for the most part they work great in my newwer b26 and wont try anything else in it but i dont think my guns will get much use after tomorow anyway.

With all the talk about CPHP lately, I bought a tin in .177 and .22 cal from Wally World.

Nothing special in my AA S400 .22 cal.

Now holy cow, my Talon SS .177 likes them all the way out to 50 yards.

It figures, I had just bought 15 tins of JSB’s.

I'm not sure if this means anything or not, but the Crosman tins have a number on the ridged part of the lid. Your going to have to look close to find it, as it's pretty small. If this pellets work for you, try to get tins with the same number on them. I know the boxed Crosmans have die lots marked on the box, not sure what the number on the tin means, if anything

Get em now while you can guys...stock up!!!  Never know when Wally will drop em from stock.  Look what happened to the Daisy .22 wadcutters...they are gone now.  I stocked up on those though, so I'm set.

I have seen the same thing with the .177 10.5 gr. Ultra Mags. My RWS 48 loves these. When I first got her I tried a bunch of pellets and the Crosman U.M. won, but not knowing anything about airguns didn't think about the loose when loading factor. Any way a couple of broken springs with the road trips for her back for warrenty work I finally saw the light. I don't weight the things but I do check the head diameter with a little gismo I dreamed up.

 Now I just know someone wants to know more about the gismo,all I did was drill a hole a little smaller than the pellet head, then with some loose fitting pellets that I had tried in the barrel and a taper reamer I reamed a a tapered hole that would let the pellet head go into the hole. Any thing that goes in that far is going to be a .44 cal. bullet.

I was wondering the same about the quality of the Crosman Pellets. Recently, I bought some from Wally World, and was very pleased with the power and accuracy of the Hollow Point pellets in both 177 and 22 caliber. I bought some more tins on my last visit to the store.

It does look like Crosman improved the quality of their hollow point pellets. I remember the older pellets were not quite up to standard, and I did not depend on them.
