My Newest Pellet Trap

Well, I’ve made plenty of pellet traps in various shapes and sizes using, magazines, old rags, duct seal, canvas and rubber much.  Canvas and rubber mulch being my favorite.

We, (my wife and I) recently acquired an Armoire from friends who moved out of the area and didn’t want to deal with it.  Turns out we really don't have a use for it other than sitting in our basement (my shooting range) holding old clothes that we really don’t’ wear much. So, I got to thinking...  I took the cloths to Goodwill and turned the Armoire it into a pellet trap.  I already had the PVC stand pellet trap so I just made it shorter and it fit perfectly.  The canvas didn’t always stop pellets from my Disco .22 or Hatsan 1000S Striker .177 so I made the Rubbermaid rubber mulch trap which also fit perfectly.   The canvas on the floor I use the catch the bouncer’s and spray which I may need to make wider.  I just roll that up when done.  To remove the bouncer’s and spray I roll it up loosely hold both ends together and dump one end into the trash.

Top targets left to right, foam golf ball, shatter blast target, five 10m targets & soda can.  Bottom targets are metal spinners ranging in size from right to left 1.25 down to .25 inches.

When I shut the doors it looks like a piece of furniture, open the doors and begin shooting. 

Thinking of getting the pantry cabinet pictured last from Target for $65.00 to use as a gun cabinet.  It's not a gun safe by any means but it is 60 x 24 x 12 so it should hold 5 or 6 guns side by side with a shelf on top for other items.  Hopefully I can just cut one of the middle shelf's to hold the forearms of the guns and keep them upright.

Dang that is nice!! I wish I could use something like that. Our rooms kid of go the other way "short" My wife would of gone with that I think. You could put a picture of a TV in front of the trap and there you go.

I have thought of that and is a concern, hopefully I won't have any flyers that are that far off.  Might have to drape something in front of the doors in case of an accidental low shot.

Famous last words. I too thought there is no way I'll miss my pellet trap and an 18" backstop at 9 yards. Well, this weekend I need to spackle ad paint the guest room wall. 
I had some clippage going on that caused rounds to FLY.
Next project, larger and thicker backstop.

I fail to understand what you used as a back trap? What is it that stops the pellets from going through and into your drywall?

You mentioned some type of canvas, what kind of canvas is this if IT stops the pellets from going through?

That is a great idea! Plus you have a great wife that will let you shoot at a fine piece of furniture!!

Excellent set up Joe6'er. I clicked on the link to re-read the Rubbermaid trap thread and I finally see the outline of squirrel knock-down target. It's black and hard to see with the black background.
I gotta make one that soon!
