How to mount an atlas bipod?

Hey guys, so I decided to return my utg bipod for a refund and with that money I am buying this> http://www.new-greenbase.com/list.asp?id=6076

People say they are pretty good replicas to the atlas bipod and no way I will put a 300$ bipod on my 340$ gun (I forgot to mention this will go on my AT44W-10 .22), maybe it doesn't have the quality the atlas has or the smoothness but it will probably perform closely or not so bad LOL the only thing I hope is that it keeps my gun level and with no cant (that was the problem with my UTG ). When I order it and I get it in my hands I will do a review or a comparison to my other bipod (before I return it).

Anyways, I want to mount this on my AT44 and the gun doesn't have any picatinny rail, it just has a swivel stud, my UTG bipod had a little adapter that transformed the swivel to both a rail and swivel but I am wondering if it will fit the atlas? Here is a link to the adapter>

My other option but I don't know if it will work and I will have to remove the swivel is this>

I have the same Atlas clone- the only think I don't like about it is how it attaches to the rifle.  It doesn't have a lever lock, like a real Atlas, it's kept on by spring tension.  You can use the ADM 170-S Lever, which is the correct lever- I've read that it will work with the clone.  Unfortunately the lever costs more than the clone bipod, at $60!! 

Your best bet would be to remove the sling swivel on your rifle, and somehow mount the MOE picatinny section.  That Single slot stud adapter isn't long enough to mount an Atlas clone.  It shouldn't be too hard.

I like my bipod so far, but I haven't really used it too much, so I don't have an extensive review for you.  Everything is tight, and works as it should.  It feels nice and stable when I get into the prone.  You could research if there is a clone of the ADM 170-S lever.  I haven't really looked for a cheaper (clone) lever, since the spring-loaded adapter works fine for now.  I just don't like how easy the bipod can come off the rifle.  I'm not sure if that was a design feature that was cloned, or was it something done to save money.  Either way, before this rifle goes out to the field more extensively, I'm going to convert the factory part over to the ADM lever.

It mounts the same way to the clone, and is a more secure method of attachment, as you can see.

Thanks! Actually the green base bipod I want to order comes with the lever look! , also would it be possible to secure the MOE picatinny section with screws AND the sling stud? I really want to keep my sling stud as I use the sling a lot! One problem I have is that the AT44 barrel bands are secured with screws and it would be a problem to drill holes for a larger picatinny rail.

Hmm, that would be a problem.  I didn't know about the barrel bands.  Is the stock inlet for the barrel bands, or can the barrel bands be moved around?  If they can be moved around, problem solved.  If the bands can be moved around, just put the sling swivel behind the MOE adapter.  Thats usually how  a tactical rifle is built.

Yep it is inlet for the barrel bands, how many picatinny slots did your atlas needed? Because the picatinny rail I mentioned before (the UTG sling stud adapter) has 2 slots so maybe it will work.

Also green base says this clone has both the lever lock mechanism and does pan or tilt

I just looked at my rifle, and it takes up 3-4 slots.  Maybe keep looking for a sling/rail adapter?  UTG can't make the only one! 

Well, since the stock is inlet for the barrel bands, moving them would prove difficult!     I assume there isn't enough room between the two bands to mount a section of rail?

More than likely.  Like my clone has the spring-loaded knob and the OP's has the lever.  The clones aren't bad, really.

Does anyone knows if this can be installed with a sling stud instead of a screw in one side of the rail?

This is 2.5" long so it may fit my at44 stock.
