Looking for a variable power scope under $150

Yup guys,
Parallax 10 yards.
In a nutshell, scope looks a little funky and definately not for springer's, but a true beauty to look through for $109.
So.......I bought another , enough said!

Great info Jason. You are making me regret I just bought one. Glad you mentioned it is better for the pcp platform. I still have more airguns around than scopes to slap on them. This addiction is horrible,is there no cure? Hmm,maybe one more scope. Lol..

I use CenterPoint 4x16 40mm.  This scope has the paralax, mildot reticle, and adjustable eye piece to focus reticle.  They run about $70.  Scope weight was not a deciding factor for me, I just wanted to see what I was shooting at without putting a big hole in my wallet.

Agree with the 4-16x40 Adventure Class Center Point. I used mine as a backup if needed and even used it at the recent 2014 National Field Target match in Heflin, AL. I was the sold shooter of a springer in the hunter class, yet using that <$80 scope my two day score would have ranked close to the middle of the PCP hunter class scores. That was after my scoped R9 fell off the cross sticks it was resting on and landing directly on the top turret on the concrete pad of the sightin range. Here are a couple pics............

The only issues I have with this CP is the fact that it's rather heavy, plus it needed to be mounted in a set of high mounts because the "lugs" of the AO wouldn't clear the R9 receiver in medium mounts. If you're using a gun with a separate scope rail, then I suppose the scope would be high enough when using medium mounts.

Last night I snuck a few shots in in the basement at about 10 yards using my Hawke 6-24X44 Varmint.  I had to bring the magnification down to about 12, but with the AO at 15 yards everything was in focus .. well everything but the reticules.  I suspect that if I backed off the mag. a little more that would have been taken care of.

The moral of the story for me is that I was worried this scope would be unusable at that short range, but thankfully it was not the case.

The eye can compensate for being out of focus to some extent but if the reticle is out of focus, there will be parallax error.  Good, consistent cheek weld can compensate for that.  May or may not be a problem at 10 yards unless you are going for groups that pass the Feinwerkbau test.

Hey Guys,
Received my second BSA 6x24x44 today ($109 w/tax/shipping).  Boy, these scopes are such great values for the $$$, but are heavy if your gonna lug it around all day (which I'm not).  The scope w/o rings weights 22.5 oz instead of the advertised 20.5 on the Midway site.  The only reason I would buy the Hawke 6x24x44 ($100 more) is, if I was equipping a springer or if I had to carry the gun all day long.

Not much of a need for 6x24 on a springer anyway.  My PCP's just beg to be shot at 50 to 100 yards....
