My first bull pup stock

This is for a Marauder pistol with the Double Tube kit.  Obviously, I copied the stock design, because original art on a blank canvas is not my strong suite.
The wood is very soft and straight grained, obeche, I think it is called, and works easily, thank goodness.  I have a new appreciation for stock makers.  They must have lots of tricks up their sleeves, or more likely, they just know what they are doing!

I made the stock in two pieces and routed out the cavity for a snug fit. Dowels aligned the halves for the early part of the process.  When it seemed ok, I glued the halves together.  The gun slips down into the cavity at an angle that matches the incline of the pistol grip.  It bottoms out nicely in the cavity and 2 screws hold it in place.  Then a lot of sanding, milling, and routing on the outside.  And I didn't break through anywhere!

I still have to make/adapt a rail to support the scope, but I have some ideas. I hope it will be stable enough.  I think I have the scope positioned in the picture approximately where it needs to go, but I am not sure.

More finishing work to do.

Looks great, I can imagine all that milling out for the rear hand grip was a pain! I know I couldn't do it, at least not in 2 pieces and be lucky if i could get it in one piece.
Looks like the trigger mechanism is a little easier to do than on say, an Mrod!

Cant wait to see it finished with how you do the scope rail

Very cool. For a scope mount on my .25 AT-44 bullpup I used a 30 slot Xpert Gear riser and it worked out great. Way cheaper than I could make one for too:

The trigger actually worked out easier than I was expecting. 
1/4 O.D. x .035 wall SS tubing.  Sawed it in two at the trigger end to form a yoke to straddle the trigger guard.  Had to heat the split tubing up to make it bend without cracking. Mashed the front end of the tubing in a chuck to get it small enough to tap 10-32 for the new trigger, which is just a slice of aluminum tubing. A light trigger preload spring  takes the slack out of the system.  Increased the spring tension adjustment in the actual trigger group to have proper trigger weight.
Fitting around the tip of the original trigger blade is an aluminum block with a pocket milled for the trigger.  Two set screws lock it in place.
The 1/4" tubing slides through a slot in an alignment block that bolts to the bottom of the Double air tube.

That cantilever mount looks very good.  I will have to adapt it down to the 10mm dovetail, but it should still be very clean looking.
