Went to the Range Today

Just a few more HFT matches so it is time to get the PB guns out of the safe and check them out.
Went to the range near Sacramento.
100 .22lr
100 .223
Checked the bulletin board for some good used stuff.
"For sale Benjamin C9A"
"$70.00"
"I have some pellets (actually 490)."
I called and said I would stop by on my way home.
I read about stuff like this but it never happens to me.
2009 Model.
You be the judge:

A day at the range with that one and you will definitely get a workout pumping. For most target shooting with mine (Mac1 steroid treatment) I realized that I didn't need more than 5 or 6 pumps. After 20 or 30 shots I always need a rest. Just getting too old -- might have to take my grandson along as soon as he is bigger to do the pumping for me.

I have two now.
I think it would be a good candidate for the truck for just in case.
Stuck in the snow, in a winter survival situation, I think a .20 caliber pumper would make one feel pretty secure.
Certainly better than nothing.
But, as I told Scott earlier, if I ever get me some grandsons....
As it is I have two step grand-daughters.
Not good for them to pump.....

Here is the chronograph test of the new C9A:
Benjamin/Sheridan C9A #2
.20/5mm
8 pumps
14.3 grain Sheridan Cylindrical
Screens 4ft Away
Shot # (fps)
605
604
604
600
608
606
609
606
605
610
HIGH 610
LOW 600
Avg 606
ES 9.4
SD 2.6
FPE 11.7
A little slow but it feels really tight.
When I picked it up, I noticed it was not stored with at least one pump of air to keep pressure on the seals.
My other C9A shoots Benjamin Cylindrical 14.3 pellets at 648fps for 13.3fpe.
That one has always had at least one pump of air before storage.
I am sure this rifle's speed will imcrease with use.
The trigger breaks nice at about 4 pounds.
Handy little rifle for wood walking and such.
