How to put pivot pin back in 13xx?

Probably a dumb question but you got to keep in mind I'm mechanically challenged. My new pivot pin came in today and I'm trying to put it back in but can't figure out how. I split my last one trying to put it back in using the punch I used to take it out. I try just tapping it back in but it doesn't go in, not to mention the whole gun (especially the pump linkage and barrel band) flop around everywhere...I need help!

Make sure there are no burrs on the the two holes in the pump tube, ditto for the pump linkage. Then you just stick it in...tap lightly and make sure the linkage is aligned. When you get sick of screwing with the roll pin give mellon air a call. He has a great kit for the pumpers that negates the roll pin.

you can dress a slight chamfer on the end of the pin, and the above mentioned recs....Also block it up with a piece of wood to stop the chicken dance, tk

Keep the pump arm open when you put it in.
