25" HW Barrel for BAM50

Where can i get said barrel and how hard is it to install? Its the barrel thats in the BAM 50 book. The guy shot a group the size of a quarter  at 100 yards.

Have do not know of any drop in .25 barrels for BAMs. Evidently, he did the work himself.


LW’s stock barrel blank is  23.8” long and .630” in diameter, but they can make them in .590” and .470” and at least in day’s past,  could make them in different lengths and diameters, but perhaps that’s not true today.  Are other barrel makers supplying .25 blanks.

The BAM’s have a barrel diameter of about .50”, so none of the standard diameter barrels would be a perfect match for the BAM barrel.

No body has "drop in barrels for a B50. A 1/2" O.D. barrel from TJ's will require minimal machine work, as the B50 factory barrel is about .500 O.D.

Just because he shot a group that size, doesn't mean that your results will be the same...
There are a lot of factors that came into play in making that group.

Mostly, the person behind the gun. (Both good and bad inputs on his part)

If you were a perfect machine, shooting perfect ammo, you could shoot dime groups at 50 yards all day long.
But we are not.

My bam's best group is about dime sized at 50, with a factory barrel.
I put 2 in one hole, dropped one about 1/4 inch, and knew it when the trigger broke, and the last 2 went in the same jagged hole as the first 2.

Has it done it since then?
No, close, but not quite.
That day, the stars aligned, the wind blew right, and The pellets wanted to be together on the target.

Is the gun capable of that?
Maybe, but there is no way to tell that without putting it in a machine rest, firing it in a vacuum so no air currents disturb the pellet, and having matched weights, sized and perfect ammo.
And ASSUMING the gun shoots at the same velocity every shot in the string.

When you fire, the gun may shoot to a different point of aim on every shot, due to velocity, pellets, and barrel harmonics.
your slight human input mis alignment on each shot, can nullify these fliers, and the pellets HAPPEN to land in a tight group near where you want them to.

And sometimes you just get lucky.

My bam's current tune is ~ 800 FPS with 14.3 pellets, it gets 40 shots from 1500 psi to 1100 psi.
Super efficient.
It happened on that spring/striker combo by accident, (left it stored with the hammer cocked by accident, and weakened the spring) and I ain't changing anything, until it changes itself.
