Used Air Arms rifle

I am pretty new to pellet guns. I have been looking for a while, but have not yet purchased anything. I was leaning towaqrds the gamo cfx, but am not sure I will be satisfied with that. I really like the Air arms guns, especially for the accuracy claims since target shooting will be the primary use. Unfortunately, even the low end air arms guns are out of my current price range. I was wondering what a reasonable price range for a used one might be. I really need to stay around $200, and wasn't sure if that was reasonable. I would love any thoughts on that.
If that is not reasonable, what are other good suggestions? I had also considered the lower end RWS guns.

Sorry, but if you do manage to find an Air Arms anything for $200, run the other way. They are truly great rifles, and priced accordingly, even used, so if someone is selling one for $200, they're either stupid or it's a basket case :-).
I'm curious, why don't you think you'd be satisfied with a CFX? My first adult airgun was a .177 CFX, and I really don't think I could have done much better in a first rifle. They're typically very accurate and consistent, and they don't tend to be hold sensitive, which is a very good thing for a new springer shooter. The only thing they really NEED out of the box is a GRT trigger and some pellets. And maybe some extra weight in the butt stock, I used Duct Seal in mine.
If you don't want to have to deal with the trigger, or are just convinced you won't like the CFX, I can also highly recommend the Diana (RWS) 34, although I certainly wouldn't consider it "lower end". I went PCP almost exclusively for 3 years, it was a Diana 34 that brought me back to springers. Not a magnum, not fancy, but just a great all around little rifle. Although I'm not a particular fan of the TO-5 trigger, it is far superior to the stock Gamo trigger, and can be tuned to be VERY good. The base model 34 comes with a plain jane wood stock, and is about $225 at PA. There are other models with various stocks, prices go up from the base. Mine is a base model and I like it just fine :-).
The Diana's are very good out of the box, but they tend to ship virtually unlubricated. If you decide to got this route, you'll want to do some research on lube "tuning" a rifle. It's not difficult if you're at all mechanically inclined, airguns are pretty simple machines.
I'm sure others will recommend some of the current Walmart guns, I know nothing about them so my opinion is meaningless :-). I'm also sure the Chinese B-26 will also get mentioned, as well as some of the other Chinese clones. They may be good guns, but I have personal issues with buying Chinese, and unlicensed clones, so won't go there, either. Hope that helps, and if you end up with a Diana or a CFX and need some help, feel free to drop me a line. Later.

You can't really go wrong most of the time with the RWS guns. Just about everyone on here that has owned one or owns one loves it so I'm sure that there will be no shortage of recommendations for them

When I was a kid, Mom always said "Patience is a virtue." Now that you're about to enter your second childhood, a little more patience and a few more $$ collected on the way might just get you exactly what your little heart desires!!!
