Lubrication of Phantom 1000

Judging from what I've read in different forums, nobody actually recommends putting oil in the compression chamber of spring airgun, so I'm not. But should any other internal components be oiled or are they lubricated properly from the factory? The owners manual doesn't say to do so beyond the compression chamber...but I was wondering if the spring should be oiled, and if so....how?
I've run about 150 shots now through my new Phantom, loving the gun and really enjoying it!

Welcome to the GTA!
You can get info on lubes and where to use them here:
http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/library/all%20about%20lubricants.htm
Don't put any kind of oil in the compression chamber. In order to properly lube your Phantom you need to open it up, and for that you need a spring compressor. You can shoot the gun until the spring breaks and then open it up or do it now and the spring will last much longer with proper lubrication. Spring compressors are easy to build and the Phantom is an easy gun to do a lube tune on. Glad you're enjoying your new gun.

good advice from bwana.... no oil in the compression chamber. The Phantoms are good shooters right from the box and it should smooth out more as it breaks in. Just clean the barrel good with "Goo-Gone" on some patches pulled through the barrel with weed whacker line and you're good to go. Shoot it and have fun. If and when you decide to build a spring compressor the Phantom is an easy gun to work on and it responds very nicely to a home tune. I shot my Phantom straight from the box for about a year before I took it apart and tuned it up. It was a great gun and then the tune just made it even better
If you want to you for now you can just take the stock off and clean off the excess "mystery oil" that you will find covering the outside of the metal and the inside of the stock. Then slap the stock back on and have fun..

If it was easy it wouldn't be hunting it would be shopping.
