Playing the lotto

Well I decided to join the world of pcp's and play the lotto at the same time. I ordered a reman marauder in .22.
I really wanted to get a Mac1 marauder but couldn't pass up the reman at nearly half the cost.
I may end up paying more in the long run if I don't get a decent barrel with the reman, time will tell.
I also got a 4500 psi tank of nitrogen from the nearest (70miles) welding supply house and a fill system from Joe.

Welcome aboard friend. I bought a 22 Disco with pump that arrived July first. When I have the funds I plan to get a tank. There is a large welding supply dealer less than five miles from where I sleep. With my COPD, pumping up my Disco from 1000 to 2200 is a real workout.

Think positive, it may be a good barrel.

I wish we had a good welding supply near us.

Our closest is tupelo, and they have to order a 4500psi bottle, and want $187 a year lease.
Plus when I need it refilled, I have to let them know in advance so they can order the bottle.

The other welding supply in tupelo, only has tanks up to 3500..

not worthy to live in a small town..

Really stoked about starting this new hobby. Pretty pricey to get started though.

The Gas House I got my tank through said they would wave the $90 a year lease if I exchanged the tank at least twice a year at $55 a fill. This is the deal that made up my mind to start PCP's because I really don't want to hand pump.

I hand pump to 1500-1800 psi, it is no big deal.

With the current tune on my gun,
I get 20 shots and use 20 pumps
(it takes 5 pumps just to pressurize the fill hose)

If I was pumping to 3000, it would be different.

My main reason I never got into PCP guns before was the high initial cost.
Then a friend gave me a pump...
He shouldn't gave done that....

But I am glad he did..

Where may I ask did you find a remanufactured Marauder?  I have been watching an seems everyone is out.
Every place I know of is out of the .25

Are there any advantages to using  Nitrogen? does it give similar performance as air?

The earths atmosphere is 78% nitrogen, so yes it gives similar performance to air.

And it isn't flammable like pure oxygen is.

Also, nitrogen bottles can be had in pressures of say 6000 psi, air is not normally bottled that high...
That's a lot of 2500 psi gun fills.....

Better performance since nitrogen is dry air, no moisture in your gun.

On the yellow forum. There is a guy that gets 2 or three every so often and sells them there. They don't last long. As soon as I saw them for sale I called and snagged the last one.
