Will a .22 rimfire trap stop a .25 pellet?

I have a champion .22 rimfire trap that I use in my basement with my 2240 and TX200. Does anyone here know if that trap can handle a .25 pellet coming out of a Mrod?

Absolutely, yes.... How many hits in the same exact spot is another question.... more than with a .22 rimfire....

Will it stop a Recluse at 32 yards? I know .125 aluminum did not hold up too well.

I think you can safely say that if the FPE is less than 100 and the pellet weighs less than 40 gr. then any proper .22 rimfire trap should stop it.... However, any trap if you hit the same place, time after time, will suffer metal fatigue and cracking, and likely eventual failure....

I've been using mine for up to 9mm ultra 100 gr trash cans on high power for two years at 8 yards.  Not a dent in the back.  I've recovered about 30 lbs of lead out of it.    Regards, Tom

I doubled my backer on the exact same trap!  I am using a .25 Condor at 900 fps with 32 grain pellets and some of Bob's Cast Bullits!

Winchester max is a 42 grain bullet at 1320 fps. Way more E than most .25 airguns.

I use my .22 bullet box when I tune my .25 marauder.  Lots of shots in the same place, and the bullet box is only 4 feet away from the muzzle, no dents or damage. I don't know if I would try that with a more powerful rifle, but it has held up well in these circumstances.  It has also taken thousands of pellets at 10 yards from my other .177 guns.

I have one of those and it has held up to thousands of shots from my .25 marauder. What won't hold up is the clip that holds the target. I destroyed that on my first shot.

That clip-a-target stuff is nonsense.  I cut a piece of thick cardboard the same size as the front opening and taped it on around all the edges.  Then I use pushpins to stick targets on the cardboard.  Not only does the target get better, flatter support, it keeps lead debris inside the trap more effectively.  I move the targets around until I think it's sufficiently shot up, then replace the cardboard.

My Champion rimfire target box has no issues with stopping & with no visible damage, a .25, 43gr pellet from an Air Ranger 80 averaging 85FPE.
