Trigger trouble

Have a beeman gs 1000 and all of a sudden the cocking mechanism wouldn't catch. I know Nothing about airgun mechanics. I removed the stock to expose the trigger and noticed a couple of missing Jesus clips but the pins seemed to be in place. Is there anything I can look for ? The cost of shipping and repair would be around $80.00 according to PA. I could get a new similar gun at Wally World for $ 98.00. Worth any trouble ?

what if we removed all the warning labels, and let nature take it's course?

Your trigger may have come out of adjustment. Back it off all the way and see if the gun cocks. If it does, readjust the trigger from that point.

Tried that but the cocking lever does
nt grab the lip of the piston. Back the 2nd stage screw all the way out ?

Factored into your decision would be how long you've owned the gun. Is it still on warranty?
Beyond that, does the cocking lever catch the cocking shoe to move the piston? Is the sear not catching to hold the piston in the cocked position? Or is the cocking lever not moving the piston to start with?

It could be the trigger housing is worn under the main spring pressure. Towards the rear of the trigger housing that goes into the main tube does it look damaged were the housing is canted at an angle?

Could also be a broken spring not allowing the sear to catch, specially with shooting heavy pellets on an OEM spring....
