Scope parallax

There was mention in another thread of altering the parallax on a non adjustable objective scope. So far no reply to the question.
I have a Hawke that has parallax set at 75 or 100 yards. That is not much use for my range of shooting and would like to take it down to 25 yds.
Can the parallax be adjusted by an amateur and if so how?

Check this thread out...

Basically, you move the front scope lens element forward by unscrewing it about a turn or two. Do Not unscrew it all the way - just
a turn or so. Check for parallax error then readjust as needed till you get the parallax set to where you want it.

Pretty simple process if the front (objective) retaining ring is easy to unscrew. I've tried a cheap Tasco, Nikko Stirling, and Simmons. All three were easily unscrewed by hand. Note, these were not one piece tubes. After the retaining ring is removed, it's just a matter of screwing in or out the lens until you have it focused where you want. As k_sqrd stated, don't unscrew it all the way. You will lose the nitrogen fill that way.

Thank you for the information. I will give it a try and success or disaster will be as it comes.
