Dais 880 with four screws holding stock.

My new Daisy 880 from Baker Airguns has four screws holding stock on (could be older stock?). It has zero flex between the stock and receiver when pumping. I can't get it to flex if I try. Also, very accurate right out of box (minute of HOSP accuracy). Is this different than the ones Wallyworld sells? Still wish stocks were put on like the Crosman 500 Semiauto I'm rebuilding where the stock is held by a substantial bolt thru pistol grip. Also noticed that the 500 stock is solid not hollow. Really feels nice when aiming. Still,I like my 880 and with 10 pumps and Crosman Destroyers, it packs a wallop.

Newer style,less flexing and breaking like old single screw style.

i got mine at the wally... 4 screw stock. no flex what-so-ever. also no flex in pump arm, it might be just a bit thicker plastic....

this has been a recent (since 2002~) fix. i think it is the 2nd generation, china guns that have this, but i could be wrong (does fiber-optic sights deserve it's own generation?)

i would love to find he first adverts showing of the 4-screw stock.....

(btw: most model information on daisy 880's are only found in the adds that sold them or the owners manuals)

Both of my Daisy 880's that I got in the last two months have 6 screws holding the stock.  1 large screw on each side and two smaller screws on each side.

David - what were your modifications? That's a big gain in FPE. will the stock 880 take 12 pump strokes?

Yes the 880 will take 12 pumps stock.

I shimmed the pump tube slightly forward to use as much of the pump stroke to produce power as possible.
