P-Rod chrony test

Today i wanted to crony my 3 main pellets,that i use for hunting in my M-rod and will use in my new P-rod. I only shot 16 pellets each,i figure 2 mags is plenty for hunting small game and could easily use 3 mags.I had to load each pellet one at a time because of the defect mag. and Crosman is sending a replacement,i will probaly make a sigle tray loader anyway.
Start fill was 2,650 for each test and end psi was about 2,100,thats very good. Hammer spring was 7-1/4turns cw from full ccw and hammer was 0.
Other than problems with mag. ,i am very happy with p-rod

Btw your magazine can be fixed if you bend the hooked end of your spring just a tad more. Read here:

I didn,t shoot for accuracy today,but think all 3 will shoot fine ,Pred,FTS and Kodiak do very well in my other PCPs and the Npxl. The Kodiaks are alot more quiet.

The FTS and CPHP strings look very similar to what I was getting- have you adjusted hammer at all?

They really get an amazing number of flat shots for the little tube.

I did adjust spring 7-1/4 turns from full ccw and 0 on hammer,i thought FPS would be alittle higher ,but will fine tune more.

Very nice string with the FTS!  SD was only 6fps and it has the smallest Extreme spread (ES) as well with FTS.  All the strings exhibit very nice consistency.  Thanks for posting those. 

Are there any power mods out there yet to get more power out of the Prod?  $390 seems a lot for just 14fpe..

I have heard of opening up the transfer port, but this is not something I would undertake lightly. I have no information on that one and don't plan to try it on mine.

I haven't done much target or chrony lately, but I have been shooting gophers and the P-rod is almost constantly in my hands when I'm outside at home. I still shoot stock out of the box, though.

There is a couple of power mods out there ,but they are only telling the results and they are impressive,but they are not saying how they did them.But it only a matter of time and there will be mods  posted all over ,just like all newly released guns.

You right about the Baracuda/Kodiaks making the gun a lot quiter, mine shoot lots of pellets well, but the Baracuda the best

You can,t buy it ,i mod the Crosman stock to make it easy to use as pistol or carbine and for easy breakdown for compact carry,Thanks.
