15 shooters came out for one of the most beautiful days of the season to shoot a great ft match. The grass was green. The mustard was high, the sky was blue with fluffy clouds. I weedwhacked three days before and that mustard grows a foot a day. Targets were clear though.

Art and Rick (with presidential micro management) set a challenging course. The mild conditions lead to the close scores. If we had had a shoot off we would have been there till 5 since pistol was shot after the rifle match, allowing the pistol guys to shoot rifle as well. A dedicated pistol course was set to more comply with pistol capability.

Only two shooters managed to hit the red devil squirrel from *(&^ and only once each. LD and Art managed it. I had to buy Art lunch since we had a bet that I lost.

I must be getting old (I am in my 70th year) and twice forgot to dial in my dope on 50 yd targets. That cost me two with low hits. The red devil cost me two. The offhand cost me two. I forgot to re-set my mag and 3/4 of the match ranged and shot at 20x. Very silly mistakes. Funny thing was my Hawke is VERY crisp at 20x and seemed to range accurately. Or perhaps it cancelled out some errors and I got lucky.

We all had a lot of fun and retired to El Pollo Loco for a late lunch and yet more contributions to the CASA Book OF Excuses.
