GRT-4G replacement ?

I read in the GRT-4G trigger replacement video that its possible I dont need a spring compressor if Im not replacing my spring.
I have a Gamo Bone Collector Bull Whisper IGT gas strut/spring. Does anyone know if I would need a compressor for trigger blade replacement on this rifle ?

Although you may be able to carefully take it apart without to much difficulty the reassembly will be much less stressful with some type of spring compressor. A simple 4ft bar clamp set into a Black & Decker workmate with some velcro straps will do the job quite nicely, keep everything secure and manageable. Good luck you will love the CDT 4G trigger in your rifle helps to improve accuracy

The gas strut in these guns are only preloaded 1/4~1/2" but they are at high pressure when the preload is on them so you may be able to release it with out a spring compressor but you will have to fight it pretty hard to get it back together without one...

I think I read somewhere that the newer Gamos had 2 cross pins, one holding the spring and the other the trigger group and the new design allows the trigger to be removed without releasing the spring.  Never seen one though.

FYI, it takes about 200 lbs to compress the gas spring.  Like Al said, not a trivial matter unless you are built like the Hulk

I took the stock off of my 4 month old Bone Collector expecting to see two pins.  There was only one pin. I put the stock back on because I didn't have a spring compressor to use to install my CDT Trigger.

My rifle is new. Just now removed the stock and I have only one pin as well.

One strong person and one pin inserter as a team could probably compress the piston and reassemble without a compressor.  I did build a compressor because I could not accomplish reassembly without it by myself.  I found you do not need a compressor for disassembly because the preload distance is not very much.  These comments are for the Gamo Bone Collector only as I have not put a trigger in any others.
