Finally I went dark

After fooling around with AG's for about 2 yrs, I'm now exhausting hpa!

I have several springer's and co2's, but wanted to get on with it and go hpa.

I bought a used qb79 .22, off another board, it was upgraded with a Arch multi shot kit, and new ninja 13 shp bottle with a Rap4 on/off/gauge at the reg.

The seller said it does 765fps with Wally's tinned 14.3 hollowpts, and I just cronied it and it does indeed. I put 30 pells thru it, and it dropped from 3000 to just under 2000.  seems the rap4 gauge is reading 1300, not the 1100 stated by ninja for a shp reg. Maybe he upped it?

He told me he go 60/ fill, I didn't shoot more, as didn't have the scope mounted yet.

I've been reading up on converted 79's, trying to get the feel for this platform. How does the results so far seem to you all???
I don't know what mods were done internally, but the air hole in the barrel doesn't look bored out like I've seen pictured.

It has a monster pickle on it, 1.5"D x 9" long, and is most most effective! He said it was made by a guy named AJ, unknown by me.

So I first put on the hpa bottle that was shipped with 600lbs in it. and it didn't leak, fired a few to see if all was well.  A-OK. this AM I got it filled at a PB store along with my co2 tanks.

I stuck on a co2 first to see how it did and it immediately blew out under the barrel at the transfer port, like the valve was stuck. several attempts, same thing. OK so now I'm thinking I got to open it up. But I tried the ninja tank, opened the rap valve, and perfect, no leaks. Yes!!!!

fired 30 over the crony, and then tried a co2 tank again-- Perfect!! must have been something in the valve?? switched back and forth between tanks several times and no problems!

BTW, it cronied 600fps w/co2, gun, tanks, and cellar were 50 degrees.

Anyone have any ideas as to what I should look for or do maintain/improve the QB??


Sorry to be so long winded, but am excited to fool around with the new toy. Got a 3x9x38 ao scope to put on next. Plus save up $300 for a ninja fill station.

I also have an self 850 airmagnum on co2, but it is so sweet, I didn't want to fool with it.

So that's my story of entering the dark world, gonna keep reading up on the boards and learning. Always amazes me the wealth of info freely given on the boards--- thanks to everyone!
