Anyone ever tried to put a springer on a linear rail?

I'm thinking about trying out an idea I have to make a stock with a linear rail in it so a spring air rifle isn't so hold sensitive.  My theory is that if the linear rail can allow the mechanical portion of the gun to move independently of the stock, the reaction to the recoil should be more predictable and thus more accurate. 

Has anyone ever tried this?

I don't know if it's been tried.  Most break barrels are more hold sensitive than fixed barrels.  Heavier air rifles are less hold sensitive than light.  Magnums can be harder to shoot due to velocity.  The barrel may move independently due to harmonics.

That said, the Germans and the English have produced guns with an internal sled attempting to reduce felt recoil.  These guns may have been less hold sensitive due to weight than for any other reason.

At this point the new Crosman Nitro Piston 2 is supposedly easier to shoot but I don't know first hand.  It's not yet on the market.

RWS / Diana 54 and FWB 300 come to mind and I think there were others. The idea has been around and in use for years.
