Had one and kept it for 3 days then sent it back to PA. Chrono showed average of 820 FPS with crosman domes 14.3 gr. Also accuracy was about 3.5 inches at 20 yards which was not very good I thought. Gun was loud also the built in muffler did nothing for sound. Then I found a Benjamin Genesis at my local wally world and gave it a try and its a whole lot better shooting gun than the Octane. Its more quiet and just a little slower averaging 750 FPS with 14.3 domes but shot cycle is smoother, trigger is better and its quieter than the octane also locks up much tighter than it also.

Did your trigger pull seem much harder than expected?

I have Benjamin np xl .22 cal. changed the trigger to the GRT 111. Big improvement still a beast at 875 fps with H&N 14.66 FTT and crow magnum 18.21 at 793 fps. It's pretty hold sensitive. Something less hold sensitive with synthetic stock sounds interesting if it has a good trigger and will be accurate and have comparable power of an np xl.

The trigger was way worse than expected. The Genesis trigger is long but not too hard and the Octanes trigger was long and hard. I can shoot 5 shots at 23 yards and cover them with a quarter with the Genesis and the umarex wasn't even close maybe baseball sized groups. Also the action did not lock up nice and tight like most quality springers do.

Thanks for your input I really appreciate it. I'm not the best shot there's a lot of room for improvement. I just gotten serious about getting the best accuracy. The Benjamin np xl .22 cal. with the trigger upgrade looks like most accurate of my rifles. I also have a Gamo hunter 220 and a Beeman sportsmen 1000 series both in .177. I like the Beeman best of the two .177s but I don't think it's as accurate as the np xl. Thanks again always looking for an affordable edge.
