2240 Stock Options

Now that my 2240 has a 24" Barrel its a bit awkward to point and shoot what exactly are my options for some sort of fore grip and shoulder stock? I searched this forum already and couldn't find anything.


EDIT: I already know about the wood "rare" stock from crosman.

The plastic 1377/1322 stock will fit, the foregrip itself is harder to come by (i'm referring to the one on the 2400 models.)

The 2250/2400 fore grip requires the 2400/2250 air tube and Co2 cap, which are longer than the 2240 ones. You also need a special barrel band and trigger frame bracket to attach it to. All of which will run you around $30 + $4 shipping to make the conversion. This also requires complete disassembly and reassembly of the gun to install the new air tube.

Here's my 2540 with a Crosman stock I modified.
I can use the 2250 forearm because I have a Hipac installed and the 2250 front band is on that (for the forward forearm screw to screw into).


Here's a 'pre complete' front grip I played with - I cut a slot lengthwise on a 3/4" copper pipe coupler and slid that over the tube. That gave me an adapter to slide a rail for a 1" shotgun magazine tube over and it all fit perfectly.
Then I attached whatever I wanted to the rail - in this case a Grip Pod.
This setup did require a riser for the breech to clear the clamping screws of the rail.



Lots of stuff you can do if you think outside the box.
The possibilities are endless.

you might have missed this. options are only limited by amount you want to spend on a $60 gun. technically it's a 2540...with extra barrels and a p-rod trigger group.

Hey KJ, I love it!
It looks like it would balance beautifully at your shoulder - one reason I located the bottle where I did on mine.

I tapped the rear tube cap on mine and screwed on a swivel cup to attach a single point sling to for hands free carry while hunting.


You can't think about how inexpensive the gun was originally. You need to figure out what you want that is not offered commercially and the 22xx, 13xx and Disco are FANTASTIC platforms to start with.

Sure, you may end up spending $500+ bucks on your build - but the advantage is you know every little part, where it goes, how it works and why.

My 2540 is regulated, quiet and gets 50+ full power shots @ 25 ft lbs on a fill (25.4 grain King @ 660 fps).
Right now its wearing a 24" 177 barrel and shooting 10.6 grain Kodiaks @ 860 fps while getting 100+ shots on a fill.

All mine are hunting guns, so you may not want to spend that much on a plinker.
If you want to use it as a training tool for a PB then build it to replicate the ergonomics and weight of your PB the best you can.

if i wan it i don't worry about what it costs ...unless i can't afford it. i've over $500 in that 2540. i hate to admit that..lol

I'm right at $800 in mine. My 1322 is at $800, 2260 at $1200, Challenger 25 at $900, Benji 392 at $400.............
Heck, I've got $70 into my slingshot!!! But Its BAD! LOL

But I tell you what.............as long as I can see it its getting a pellet in it with absolute authority!!!

Kj, that wood stock is beautiful. I'm thinking of getting a 2260 stock and modifying it to fit the 2240. I really like Carsons tactical look, I had the 24" barrel but decided to cut and crown down to 14" so I now have an extra 10" barrel. The 24" barrel and 2260 tube was badly scratched so I sanded it down need to get a can of Krylon and paint everything when I have some extra time.

Still have some modding to do, paint job,muzzle cover, HiPac and .25cal barrel from Mountain Air or Trackofthewolf.

lookin good to start. .you may get the best deal on a .25 barrel  from crosman. their.25 barrels are really good and come from green mountain , i believe. then just send it and have someone machine it to fit your breech. the barrel will need turned down . if the breech you're using is a crosman breech send it with the barrel for fitting ,  and ask whoever is doing the machining to drill and tap another hole in the breech so you have 2 barrel hold down grub screws , instead of one.

when switching to .25 you have to realize the outer diameter of the barrel is 1/2" as opposed to 7/16" like the normal crosman barrels.  stuff like barrel to tube clearance might be an issue, i've read where some had to put a riser under the breech. if you need a barrel band you'll have to have one made. or drill out the existing one.  the style barrel band of a 2250 has a lug on the bottom that can accept a machine screw to afix the front of the stock to. this will give more stability than just the 2 grip screws .

there are adapters that go on the end of the gas tube that will allow you to put an ar type collapsable butstock on that. so many options and alot of fun.
