I have a couple of the Centerpoints and a more expensive Leapers 3-12x44 AO IR. Both brands have held up well over thousands of shots on ~20fpe springers using 1pc mounts that are torqued to spec.
The quality of glass, paticularly in terms of clarity at high zoom, is virtually indistinguishable. I wish I knew if perhaps the Leapers falls on the low side of the QC spectrum, but if it is typical, I feel the Centerpoint is a much better value.
The Hawke Sport HD 3-9x50 is so much clearer than both it isn't even funny. I'll admit that with its 3x magnification ratio, it's not a fair comparison. But if you can find it on sale, it is a stellar bargain. It is normally $130 or so but AGD has occasionally ran it on sale for $80. That is what I paid the last Black Friday and they've done it once since then and it was all I could do not to buy another.
That being said, all 3 are Chinese-made scopes with the attendant variable quality so the best choice on any given day is probably the luck of the draw.

I found the leapers to have a better quality sight picture at highest mag settings. I've heard people say they're the same scope to. lol

I just bought a Wal-Mart grade CP 4 x 16 scope for a Gamo Bone Collector Bull Whisper .22 that I have on order. I wanted a cheap(relatively) & light combo to take out with my son when we go "exploring" for hours in the woods. The CP looks good to me for a $75 scope. I have a HW97K with a Nikko Stirling 4-16 Targetmaster & it is a tack driver. Only down fall is it is HEAVY. It weighs in @ 11.5 lbs. I'm curious to see how the CP compares to the Nikko Stirling ( $75 vs. $275).
Any suggestions on a mount for the CP? I have a BKL 1 pc on my HW97K but I am thinking start out with the CP mounts supplied with the scope first for economy reasons. Also this is my first break barrel rifle. As far as barrel droop is concerned, I take it that you just have to shoot it & see if your rifle has it?

Break barrel droop is on a case by case basis. I just got a new Nitro Venom and it hits a couple inches high at twenty yards.
As far as using the Center Point mounts on your new Gamo, you'd better see what mounting system the Gamo has. I think Gamo is generally dovetail. The rings that come with the scope are for a Weaver rail.
If it is dovetail you definitely want one piece rings. If you're worried about barrel droop you may wish to look into elevation adjustable rings.
They may not be the best, but Sun Optics are some of the least expensive. The best deal on them can probably be had at SBD Global, a mom and pop outfit in Texas. They give personal service and aim to please. (sbdglobal@charter.net)
