Called Crosman today and no luck with getting barrels

I have both the Crosman 2089 and the 1377. I wish to change both barrels to the longer 14" type. I like the look of the longer barrel much like the one pictured on the box of the Crosman Doomsday kit. I called Crosman today and had no luck ordering barrels. It seems the part #'s I gave them are now obsolete. Does Crosman carry 14" in the .22 or .177 cal. Anymore? If not who has them readily available? I don't care to wait months for a part, would like to enjoy shooting this summer.

AFAIK, the new Backpacker 2289 has a 12" barrel not 14", and it's .22 cal only.... You may have to buy an 18" or 24" and shorten and recrown it....

Try amazon?  seen some barrels on there.  All second hand though.  Other than that, I'm not sure.  Other than buying a whole new custom gun.

Crosman does offer a 14" .22 barrel, however, it's a custom shop option, unless you have purchased a custom shop gun they won't sell it to you Crosman does not offer a 14" in .177.

Try mellonair, or bryan and associates, they will make either caliber in what ever length you want to 24" I think. I know Mellonair may be a bit of a wait... Airgunbna (bryan and associates) I not sure about the wait from them on barrels, I have ordered other parts and had them with in 2 weeks.

I just recently contacted Crosman and spoke with them regarding ordering a barrel for my 1377.  There seems to be a bit of a trick to ordering one.  In my case, I wanted a 24" barrel.  Here are some tips for you.

Crosman will not simply provide you with a part number for a barrel with your description.
In my case, the article or YT vid already suggested a gun that had the barrel I needed.
From there, I  went to the documentation area, and looked up that gun's barrel's part number.  When I relayed that part number to CCS (Crosman Customer Service), they replied that that part number was obsolete, but that here was the corrected part number for my 24" barrel.
You CANNOT use the references for barrels in Crosman's Custom Guns page -- they only apply if you are buying a custom gun.

So, if you have any sort of idea what gun uses a barrel you want, you are in reasonably good shape.  If not, you need to do more work to find the gun first.  Either way, you need to do your homework before contacting CCS.  In my case, getting the barrel part number was fairly straightforward.  You may also consider getting a slightly longer barrel and having it cut to the size you need by a third party.  I hope this helps.

Crosman have learned by experience that if they provide a part number based on the experience of the order taker and the consumer it is dumb and dumber holding hands buying what seems most plausible. That is not the way to sell parts.
Try going into the local washing machine repair and tell them you have a Kenmore and you need a belt. Make Model year serial number etc and then you know the EVP and the PN.
Crosman is putting the onus of making sure you are getting the right part on the consumer so they are not even partially responsible for a customer getting something besides what he needs. I have to give them part numbers to. That is how parts departments operate.
When you start swapping things around it takes a bit more experience than the order takers have. You can't expect an order taker to know what goes where and help you figure out what you need to do your gun your way.
This place is the best resource for such things.
These are good part numbers and are All available, as far as I know.
You should double check the part numbers before you purchase.

I know its impossible to stock all parts from all guns made. The thing is,we know Lots of parts interchange with different models. We should be able to buy what we want or need. I wish I didn't have to go thru all this. If they only made the gun (2289) like it appears on the box with the longer barrel then I would be happy. Also wouldn't hurt if they used quality parts like metal breech to attach a scope to etc. I know the parts topic has been posted so many times on this and other forums. This means there is a market for this and Crosman should update their website to offer online parts ordering that shows when a part is available,discontinued,back ordered, etc. Its what all companies are doing now. Who wouldn't want to make money 24/7? Anyway, I started this project and I'm gonna finish it. Wherever I get the darn parts from.

I can sell you a 14" .177 no problem. The thing has to be prepped cause we need to crown it and clean it so we may as well do a lead job and give the the extended Probe and call it accuracy prepped & ready to bolt up. The XT breech I listed is the go to set-up if you want to scope the gun but it Only takes the LPA sight with is another $40. Otherwise you get plastic or a solid breech no rear sight.
I have .177 barrels in stock.

If you have very little knowledge answers just raise more questions. The thing to do is call the shop. Phones can be very handy devices for conversing. The steel breech is good structure. It will not accept the sight that is on it now. It is the best arrangement to have good accuracy and a place to mount optics. If you want open sights it is as expensive as the breech to get the rear sight that fits the breech. 310-327-3582. 11-6 Pacific

If you haven't got a barrel yet and are unsure about your ability to cut and crown one I would call Tim at mac1airguns.  I bought a 10" for my 1377 from him and it was prepped very well. Crown was perfect and the lead was polished to a mirror finish.
