It was just before Christmas 1971 and what I really wanted was a Crosman Model 99. To my dismay, it had been discontinued at the end of 1970. I "settled" for a 622 which served me faithfully for many years, and is still in my collection. Since I recently acquired and restored a Model 99 and more recently found a scope to go with it, I can finally say my Christmas is complete.

Is that a wood stock or plastic? Either way, that is a nice looking gun.

It's wood. I stained it dark walnut, then put two coats of polyurethane over it.
