Upgrading nitro venom

I recently bought a nitro venom, and am wondering about how to go about upgrading it. Right now it get 2 inch groups at 40 yards, but I want more. So if there's anything I can do to improve accuracy please tell me!

Lots to be done, start with a good cleaning of the barrel with Goo Gone, then dry patch it, do not use oils.

I think those need replacement washers at the barrel pivot due to the plastic ones breaking down, you get them from Gene.

Bob at CharlieDaTuna makes a great trigger and I think it is a direct replacement...

It will need  a break-in period. I took mine apart and deburred, lubed, put in brass breech washers, trigger, and have tried 16 different pellets. I finally found a tighter hold to my shoulder and forearm on balance point on rolled towel has been the best so far.

It helps to get rid of that stupid hard rubber excuse for a barrel break and put one on from Crosman for a Remington Summit made of good weighted steel. It increased the accuracy of both of my Venoms significantly. Don't worry about the fit of the Summit on the Venom barrel, they are the exact same barrel. Also, the Summit breaks are probably the cheapest on the market, less than $5 apiece the last time I ordered them. Call 800-724-7486.

X2 on the GRT3 trigger. Its like getting a whole new rifle.

Also, if you want to make your rifle REALLY beautiful, get a Remington Summit stock (also from Crosman) and slap it on. It is a perfect fit and the stocks are gorgeous. They also don't cost very much.

pappa...how did the Summit barrel break mount if it is all steel?
 I took my plastic one off my venom with a hair dryer to check the crown and put it back on.

It is made with very close tolerances to the Venom barrel and there are 2 flush-set grub screws that should be turned to the bottom of the barrel when it is slipped on all the way and then tightened down. I have had mine on for well over a year and they have done their job admirably. I wouldn't be without them.

If it was me I would forget any upgrades until the issue you mentioned a couple days ago has been addressed.  Any gun that does not lock up the barrel consistently will never shoot right.  If you are not willing to do some gunsmithing I would contact the seller or possibly crosman. 

I have a few guns that do not shoot good that just never get used as if I can not hit what I am aiming at,...... what is the point?  I have guns that will hit that I do use.   Good luck      john
