Ok, I was looking at buying a chain drive shoebox but then I saw that it automatically adds a rebuild kit to the purchase if you don't chose not to buy it. It scares me a little every time something comes with a rebuild kit. Do these systems needed rebuild often? How much better is the tool steel piston? If its got to be rebuild fairly often, I may just upgrade to the tool steel piston after the first rebuild. Thanks

I would'nt buy a chain driven he is phasing it out and the parts are sure to dry up. And yes the hardened pistons are a world of difference.

I have one of the first versions, and after two (very easy) partial rebuilds (1 O-ring the first time, 2 the second time) at 75 and 150 hours, I haven't done anything further and I'm now approaching 300 hours total time....
