Just bought airguns and hooked!

Hey guy i'm new to this forum and was looking for some help. The other day i went down to P.A. and bought a pump master 760. I've been trying to kill little birdies ever since back at my home in N.Y. I was wondering if there is any info you could give me on how to make this last and tips and anything i could do to make it better. This is my first air gun and my only one lol. If i need another i would have to travel 2 states away to get one. I would really appreciate some tips and pointers. . Sorry if i sound like a noob I am one.

Seriously, to echo gamo2hammerli, please do not shoot songbirds or other protected species.
That's not just out of kindness, but because you can be prosecuted severely for it.
If you are after pest species, I am unaware of any jurisdictions that have an limitations on shooting these introduced invasive species:

The European Starling - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Starling
The English Sparrow - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_sparrow
The Pigeon (sometimes called Rock Dove) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pigeon

Don't confuse that last one with the smaller dove, as those are considered a native game species.
Of course, you would do best to ensure that the three species I linked to here are not restricted in your location, but they are pretty much universally regarded as harmful to native songbirds.
I know in my neck of the woods, all three of them have no season at all; in other words, the law says shoot them with impunity.
If you kill them, you will be doing the native songbirds a huge favor.

First, welcome aboard!  (You might want to change you handle.  That one's kind of, well, off-putting.)  If you want to get the most from your new air gun, check out the Crosman section here on the GTA or the larger Crosman Airgun Forum.  http://www.network54.com/Forum/275684/  Bound to be many useful tips on these.

Do research your local laws pertaining to shooting air guns where you live or hunt.  Some can be severe and you don't want a couple thousand dollars worth of trouble over a $50 gun.  For example, shooting your gun in my county is a firearms violation.  Don't rely on the local cracker-barrel experts.  Either look it up or ask the police (and even they aren't 100% infallible.)  Also, as suggested, read up on which birds are off-limits.

Air guns can be a lot of fun if used correctly.  Don't forget the eye protection.

Welcome abord and congrats on the new gun! Ditto on the check your local laws before you shoot last thing you want is cops at your house. They are usually cool bout most things but firarms violations is not one thing they are remotely cool about. Good luck in your legal irratication of pest!

Seems odd that someone would drive 2 1/2 hrs each way to get a rifle when he could order it and have it the next day by ups for free. Add a tank of gas and it makes no sense at all. This one sure sounds like he's trying to get us to buy into something.
Maybe we should require more complete registration info. and a valid e-mail address for registration.

If this is your first AR , and you just got it , and your are not sure what do to get the most from it . I would say you have plenty of time to research appropriate game seasons etc. while you hunt down some of those crafty, viscous, in season all year, PAPER targets and become familiar with your new weapon .

He's in NY and many companies won't ship airguns to NY at all.  I vote that this is just a troll.

Yeah, I will leave it to Rocker1 (Dave) to take care of it either way, but I have a hunch that his ban is imminent.
