Benjamin 347 cocking and air

Well, when I bought my Benjamin 347 it would not pump up air, so I rebuilt the valve.
Now it needs to be cocked in order for it to pump up.
That's all and dandy, and I don't mind it.
But since I keep a couple pumps of air in the gun while stored, any concerns with keeping the hammer spring cocked back for extend periods?
I wouldn't think so, as springs are quite durable, but thought I would ask.
Pic for your trouble

You can try what I do with my Silver Streak pull the bolt back a little way then do 1 or 2 pumps. got this info from Tim @ Mac1

pull the bolt backwards just a touch, it relieves the trigger pressure on the valve. Youll see the trigger move forward just a jag..........
they should always be done like this, keeps trash from sucking back into the valve from the bbl side, and then causing sealing issues.
half cock, and store it with one pump. This doesnt compress hammer spring fully, no no real loss of power on the spring. lubed with secret sauce, keeps a valve clean and trouble free for a long time.
God bless,
Farmer
