Poly mags or crow mags?

The Barracuda Hunter Extremes should be pretty awesome out of a gun with enough power to expand them in soft tissue.  They really have to be moving, though.  Velocities that would make that big cup on the crow mags separate should open the hunter extremes up nicely!

The Hunter Extremes require a lot more velocity than the Crow Magnum to expand....

Yeah, the kind of velocity that separates the cup on the crows from the rest of the pellet should make the extremes open up like a flower.

Not really a problem...but kind of one.  Need to test expansion out there the pellet connects with the prey (where it's fallen off in velocity).  Can detune a gun to shoot slower (to what you estimate the velocity to be out at the critter-killing distance) or put your test media out at the range you expect to kill critters...either one works about as well as the other (the difference in RPM of the pellet isn't a significant difference in expansion).

That's why I chronographed at 20, 25, and 30 yards. Also used Chairgun to estimate some, and used multipump guns to get the velocity down to realistic levels.
