Light weight Marauder scope

I just purchased my 2nd Benjamin Marauder. My first one was the .25 and I scoped it with a  UTG 30mm SWAT 3-12X44 Compact IE Scope with AO Mil-dot, 36 Colors EZ-TAP &  UTG Leapers 30mm Rings, Medium, 3/8" Dovetail. This is a great combination for long distance shooting. Problem is, it is heavy @ 22oz + rings. When I pick up the new Marauder .22 that has not been scoped yet I can really feel the difference in weight.

I would like some suggestions for a light weight scope + ring combination to put on the MROD .22. I have a heavy .25 MROD that is a tack driver. I would like to set up the .22 MROD to be a lighter version. Something that would be easier to carry around in the woods.

I thinking about maybe a fixed power scope. Maybe 6x around 10oz. I like the mil-dot recital. I like the variable powers scopes but could give that up for weight saving. The color cross-hairs are cool, but I seldom use them except to impress somebody, this could easily be lost to save weight.

I'm wondering if aluminum rings would make any difference.

Not sure the scope will make a significant difference, given the weight and bulk of the mrod.  I have full size scope on both of mine.  Without support freehand shooting accuracy is wasted on my abilities.     I am using a prod for freefand pest control.  I sellected a low cost 2-7X32AO BSA scope for it.  It has enough magnification for sighting in, and low power for easier target locating.  It is 16oz.  The Leaper's bug busters were slightly smaller, and a few ounces less, but would require me to use an offset mount.

I looked it up, not a bad choice, the price is definitely right.

I do have a Leaper's bug buster mounted on another rifle. It's a thought, what I do not like about it is the short eye relief.

Yea, you are right. I may be chasing a dream. "Lightweight MROD"

A project for next winter, will be putting my Mrod 22 on a diet.   Not sure if it will be stock modification, replacement, or other.   Some of the bullpups look very interesting (see motorhead's), but have never handled one.  If they are lighter and better balanced, might consider that.  In the meantime, modifing the prod has been the focus for that type of work.

Yea, I want the weight of the Prod, or Disco and the power of a MROD, Oh yeah and a million dollars while I'm wishing. LOL 

I've never shot a bull-pup, I'm an old guy, that would take some getting use too.

Anybody familiar with the Leupold - 2-7x33 VX-I Rifle Scopes it looks like they are around 10.2oz. I been doing Google searches for best lightweight scopes and this one comes up a lot. I see a lot of them for sale on ebay.
