Hatsan 95 .22 - First impressions

Hi everyone,
I picked up my Hatsan 95 in .22 a couple of days ago. I live in London so my airgun is a 12ft/lb version.
Here's my first impression:
Out of the box the gun looks lovely. The stock is very beautiful and the grain is the best I've seen on an airgun.
The metal work is nice too. Better than any Chinese gun I have owned although not as good as my Weihrauch airguns.
The finish on the barrel is OK although it seems a little "rough" to the touch.
Open sights are OK and work well for me at 20 yards maximum.
The cocking action from new is quite stiff and noisy. I was disappointed with this. However it is breaking in slowly and after about a 100 pellets it is much quieter and smoothing out. Time will tell but I think it will be OK after a full tin of pellets has been put though the gun.
The machining around the breech is good and seal looks quality. It's not as nice as my HW95K but better than a lot of the BSA's I have owned.
The safety catch works well and is easy to use and smooth although it does creep back a little after each shot.
Recoil is fairly high when compared to my other German made and Chinese made airguns.
Accuracy wise it is good when shot free hand. Best pellet so far is Air Arms Diablo which are JSB Exacts in the USA? It also likes RWS Hobby wadcutters. I have managed half inch groups at 25 yards so far. I hope I can get better (I am using a Hawke 3-9x40 AO scope).
Trigger had a heavy pull but I have adjusted it and now it is how I like it. The Quattro trigger is fully adjustable so you should be able to find something that suits you.
Energy levels at the moment are around 11.25ft/lbs. It may go higher as the gun breaks in.
The airgun did have an excess of grease on some of the parts that I cleaned off. I also cleaned the barrel and it was actually quite free of muck etc.
My overall impression is good. It's a solid and well made airgun that should last me for many years to come. The accuracy seems good and the stock is exceptional. I do think it will benefit from a strip down and perhaps some lube on the spring. For the price I paid it's great value and I am pleased with my purchase.
Thanks for reading,
Alan

You probably just described what it's like to buy and own nearly all of the Hatsan/Webley 1000fps rated lineup. Some of the triggers are a little better than others but apart from that, they appear to be much the same...
