Quest is a Crosman spring/piston clone of BAM B18/19 platform.
B18/19 clones are marketed under many labels:
Crosman, Quest, Optimus, Phantom, Fury
Remington Vantage, Summit
Benjamin, Trail NP (NP version of same B18/19)
and more...

They are good plinkers in general, and often they can be tuned/upgraded into fine shooters.

Yep.......the .177 Crosman Quest 1000 I owned was a Chinese clone of the Gamo 220, however the fit, finish, and materials used were sub par compared to the Gamo.

LOL..........I "landfilled" the Quest after much frustration with poor grouping even though I was able to get the 30 yard groups to shrink from 1 1/2" ctc to a can rolling accuracy of 1" ctc with MUCH machine work. I later found that the hole in the sleeve that was in the barrel pivot block was rather loose fitting and the hole in the sleeve wasn't concentric. This meant that I would shoot several pellets in a nice group, however the "eccentric sleeve" would occasionally rotate around the pivot bolt and change the poi.
One of my better Crosman Quest groups at only 11 yards.........

I later bought a Gamo440 to see if the "real" Gamo would be more accurate than the Chinese clone and found that after the addition of a trigger insert (not a complete CDT trigger) I was able to shoot 30 yard groups of 1" ctc. This was a bit of surprise to me because the Gamo was nicely finished and the bore was really nice compared to the Quest bore that was "rough as a corn cob"!  Anywhoo.........I also got rid of the Gamo due to it's relatively poor accuracy for ME and I didn't want to go through the hastles of trying to get it to shoot straighter!

Decent platform to work with and will return remarkable results once tuned.

The Gamo's/Crosmans are the same basic SAG B18/19 platform, just dressed up differently. They come out of the same factory in China and Crosman/Gamo rebrand em.

My first rifle was a StormXT, (same gun) and was rough out of the box. The metal work and bluing looks very good for this model. Replaced the seal, spring, cleaned up and lubed the internals. Replaced the barrel washers, cleaned up the crown and radiused the loading port. Refinished the stock and added a little bit of dess up to the stock.

It now shoots smaller than a dime at 25 yards and is accurate out to 50 yards an inch or better, WITHOUT a new trigger. The trigger really should be replaced, but I've got shooting mine down to a science so I can compensate. Puts out 16 FPE with 8.64 FTT's. It's one of my keepers, mainly because its the first springer I owned and the first I tuned, but also because its now a grab and go gun if I want to just shoot paper or go after squirrels and rabbits as well.

To be honest it needed plenty of attention, but the results and the price point made it worthwhile.
