I have a little over six hundred .22 rounds through my RWS 34 and the barrel was cleaned when I got it and after five hundred rounds. The barrel has quit smoking ,do you think it has had enough rounds through it to say it is seasoned and to zero the scope in?

ya why not? it still may change the poi till after a couple of k. Put some molly on the cocking foot or it will start to sound bad when you cock it, makes you sick.

Go for it...I couldn't wait that long.
As it breaks in more, do expect it to change flavor of pellets. Once completely broken in, then it will stick to one type.
Complete break-in, can take up to 2000 pellets, for all the metal parts to mesh.

X2 what Rob says about pellets. Mine was all over the place with FTT's when I first got it. Now it loves them.

My 34 in .177 took about 1500 shots to really settle down and to decide on her favorite pellets.

As a general guidline for me it takes a tin of pellets or roughly 500 to break in a bit. Then after that you start looking for a pellet of choice or the gun's choice might I say. Then you put another 1000-1500 through her to be ready for some serious action. That being said I mount scopes immediately to be able to get the scope use to the recoil of the gun. What I mean by that is the metal to metal contact of the rings to the rail to settle in.
