Need advice on PCP

At the Fun Shoot I met Mike Melick and his XS60C and now I feel myself pulled toward the Darkside. I know I will need a tank and other support equipment.  What specific equipment will I need and where can I purchase it at a reasonable price. Thanks for your help.

Look around all the local scuba shops to see if they have any tanks for sale.  I'm a diver, so I've got a pair of high pressure steel 80 cu ft. tanks.  They work GREAT!!!  Cost me 8 bucks to refill, and I can get about 35 refills from it before I need to head back to the scuba store for a refill.  Pickup a PCP refill hose/adapter, and you are done.

Come to the Dark side, we have cookies. I started with a MROD .25, I no longer have it because I found bigger and better guns. I am now broke, credit cards are maxed, and have a second mortgage on my house. The upside is the kids eat good from all the critters I get. Squirrel meat, gravy, and biscuits are quite tasty.

Just joking.  In my hands the PCP is way easier to shoot than the break barrel I had.  If you are interested in an entry level rifle that is a proven killer, for about $400 you can get the Discovery with the Benjamin hand pump combination.  I am a little older than you, weigh 145 pounds and have NO DIFFICULTY airing up the rifle. 

Out of the box, I pumped the rifle to 2,000 PSI, mounted the scope, and started shooting to sight-in.  The picture shows shots 26 through 30.  This target was at 25 to 30 yards with Crosman Premier Hollow Point pellets (14.3 grains).  Most of my hunting is at approximately that distance.

With these low pressure PCP guns you get about 10 to 15 good shots then you have to fill back up. So if you were pesting you would fill it up and that's it.  I like to shoot at least 50 pellets per session.  I much rather use a tank than have 4 or 5 pump sessions to get my 50 shots.

a scuba tank is a quick and inexpensive way to start but be careful as there is no regulation from the scuba when you fill that gun and do not over fill it.

depending on where you are located at and your budget you can get a small hpa tank with a reg and use that on the gun.

Yes, you got to be careful but with a large, decent, liquid filled gauge it is pretty easy to accomplish safely.
