In reading the OP, I couldn't help feeling that Your perfect pellet for that gun may have been overlooked if you have only shot 10 pellets from each tin. When searching for the perfect fit, I would always clean the barrel, shoot 25 pellets to season the barrel and then shoot five-five shot groups to see how they do. The rest are saved for plinking when on the shelf stock needs replenishment.

I totally overlooked that one! Excellent advice.
I need about 1/2 tin to know for sure, shoot at different distances (like mustangmike) and shoot different days just to confirm. I have my bad days also.

Thank you Paulie, you are absolutely right.  I think I may have overlooked a couple possibliites.  I dont think I was giving each pellet a fair chance.  I realised this yesterday when I went to chrony some pellets.  My gun was shooting extremely slower than normal.  I first got concerned, then figured I better stop shooting and get to the cause.  I normally shoot a 10ish grain pellet in the 900's and I was getting in the low 800's then I tried a pellet that was 8gr. (normally in the 1000's) still got 800's.  So I cleaned the barrel, seasoned it with a couple dozen rounds then thats when I had an AH-HA moment.
I have been using a pellset to seat each pellet about 1/8"into the chamber  to make sure the skirt was fully seated, in doing so I had created a gap that was letting my velocity suffer. When I test fired a 10.65gr. round nose with pellet just seated by thumb I shot 955fps.  But when I used the pellset and fired I got 823fps.  I tested this theory 5x, same result types each time.  I was losing over 100fps just by having the pellet seated in 1/8"  And that is with the pellset screwed in most of the way.  Wont be doing that no more.
Another interesting thing I found was that the first round of a different pellet going down the barrel shoots significantly different than the following will.  Almost like its a transitional round that tweaks the bore a little different.  For example.  I shot 20 rounds of 10.65 all cronied in the high 900's.  I then went and shot 10 rounds of 8.0gr predators.  The first predator chronied at 927, with all following shots firing in the mid 1000's.  This happened again when I switched back to the 10gr. stuff, first round was much different than the remaining.
Which goes to what you said to do, that I wasnt.  And that Is to clean each barrel between types, season, then test fire.  Thanks for your input. Greatly appreciated.
